Dear supporters,
I would like to take this opportunity to commend Rose and the selfless endeavours by her and her spouse in helping to support children obtain a better education in Kisii County in Kenya. According to the World Bank and UNESCO, it is estimated that there are more than 1 million out of school children of primary school age in Kenya. The main barriers to education are poverty, unemployment, loss of one or both parents, gender discrimination, and displacement due to drought, terrorism, regional conflict, etc.
In Kisii County where the charity will be operating, tuition and accommodation fees have to be raised by parents and/or guardians and some children end up dropping out of school due to lack of funds. Many orphaned children, or children from single parent families find it particularly challenging and most drop out at an early age.
The aim and objective of this Charity is to support children who drop out of school, the means to return and complete their primary school education and to continue with their secondary eduction. Most schools in Kenya are boarding schools and the Charity aims to provide the necessary funding for both tuition and accommodation.
I would encourage you to generously support Kisii Junipers Purse of Hope in the important work they are doing in Kenya to restore hope and a better future for disadvantaged children and youth.
Kind regards,
Jay Heyns
